Hi, I’m Beatrix! I’m a fourteen year old writer, creative, and amateur medievalist. I live in New York, and I started this website to share my thoughts and connect with more people in the Medievalist community!

So what is this, anyway?

I’ve been studying Old English for about two years now, and I have so many ideas to share! Here I’ll publish my new projects and thoughts on everything from Medieval culture, history, and language.

Old English (with a little twist)

The way we look at Old English and Medieval studies hasn’t changed much for a long time. I have found this area completely captivating and enthralling. It’s a language that I’ve grown to love deeply and a time period that I’m so curious about. But when most people think about this field, the things that usually comes to mind are dusty books, old artifacts, and dreary, dull essays. That’s why I want to refresh the ways we look at Old English and bring it to a new audience. This field is joyful and exciting, and I want my work to show that.

Expect the Unexpected!

This isn’t an Old English textbook or a professional analytical website. This is a platform where I’ll share stories, writing, and observations. There will be talking apples, invented words, and a new spin on classic ideas. It’s more of a glittery kaleidoscope view of the language and culture than a magnifying glass. ;)
